Expect the unexpected

Jae Thomas and his collaborators bring a sense of unpredictability and excitement to every performance. Their ability to seamlessly shift between genres within a single song creates a dynamic experience that keeps audiences engaged. No two performances are ever the same, as they thrive on real-time improvisation and evolving arrangements. Whether playing solo or with a full band, Jae takes risks, experimenting with different sounds and styles, making each show a fresh and unique experience. Technical skill is great—but the audience really responds to performers having fun, bringing energy, and experimenting with music, along with technical skill and expanding creative boundaries. This creates an immersive experience that feels fresh and alive with every performance.

Experience & Background:

Jae Thomas has been performing professionally since 2007, with roots in the Lake Wallenpaupack music scene. Known for highly adaptable and engaging performances, Jae collaborates with top-tier musicians such as:

  • J.B. Aikens – Bass/Guitar, Vocals
  • Jami Novak – Drums, Vocals
  • Stephen Faubel – Keys

Musical Influences:

Jae’s influences have always been eclectic. Early exposure to music came through movies and video games, which soon led to discovering Nirvana. This opened the door to a variety of artists that influenced them, from The Beatles and Neil Young to 70s punk. A high school music teacher introduced musicals and jazz, leading to improvisational playing over Grateful Dead and Bob Marley songs.

Today, Jae’s playlists might include Erik Satie and Nine Inch Nails alongside Leonard Cohen and Django Reinhardt—seemingly unrelated, yet all integral to their musical approach.

Current Projects:

Jae is currently finishing an album featuring highlights from the past 10 years. In addition to recording, Jae continuously refines his live setlist, ensuring performances remain fresh and engaging.
